March 3rd, 2010
Computerworld, a magazine specialising in computer news has found that the beta version of Opera’s latest web browser, Opera 10.5 is the fastest web browser today.
The performance of Opera 10.5 was compared with similar browsers like Safari and Google Chrome and the new browser was found to be way ahead of its competitors, offering the fastest web browsing to users.
Computerworld has arrived at this conclusion after going for benchmark testing. The results of the testing show that the latest Opera version, 10.5, was faster than Safari by fifteen percent and twenty percent faster when compared to Google Chrome. The other data regarding the comparative speed of different browsers is also encouraging. Opera had double the speed of the popular browser Mozilla Firefox 3.6 and when compared to Opera 10.10, it was found to be eight times faster. Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) was nearly ten times slower than Opera 10.5.
There are other impressive features of this recently developed browser. There is an improved interface and menus end up taking less space. The browser also supports Windows 7’s Aero Peek and Jump List features. There is a special feature, which takes care of the privacy factor as it allows the users to mark any tab as private so that their browsing history is not stored.
The date for the formal release of this browser is not known yet but if you want to satisfy your curiosity, download beta to get a first hand feel of the browser.
